Packing Tips from the Pros: Lee Rosales

Lee Rosales is a Mommy/Travel Blogger from Manila, Philippines. She's been traveling since she was in college but it all stopped when she had a child. Now that she has a 7-year-old daughter, she can finally travel almost every month. She admits she's now able to surpass the "separation anxiety" she had for almost 5 years.

She's so proud to say she's a pro in packing clothes because all moms pack all the necessary things. Her blog is called I love Paars. "Paars" is a Dutch word for purple and this depicts her love for all things purple!

Lee blogs about her travel adventure and food experience to every destination she goes to. She loves to stay in a lavish hotel, in the same manner she also enjoys staying in hostels. Her ultimate dream is to travel the whole world with her daughter so she can experience the happiness Lee gets from traveling.

What's usually in your carry-on?

Mobile phone, power bank, baby wipes, keys (house&car), lipgloss/lipstick, pen.

Tell us about the usual type of clothes you bring when traveling?

Versatile clothes such as black/white dress (for casual and dinner date), light clothes, 1 jacket, 1 snicker, 1 sandals, sarong/coverup.

Do you pick your wardrobe meticulously, plan a day by day outfit, etc.

Sometimes, if it's my own trip - no! but if it's a press trip - yes!

What's the best packing tip anyone has given you? Who gave it?

Always bring a sanitary pads, alcohol and baby wipes - my high school BFF - who has an OCD taught me this!

What is the best thing about packing light?

The best thing about packing light is you save airline check-in baggage whereas packing heavy, you will never repeat an outfit esp. if you love to take photos and OOTDs.

How does your packing for a travel routine look like?

Days before so I have enough time to check if I need to shop for clothes or not :) Please tell a story about your packing routine. - As a mother, I learned to bring all the stuff I needed and will need in the future. If I will be traveling abroad. I make sure I bring all my vitamins and emergency medicines for a headache, stomach flu etc. I may bring fewer clothes when packing light but I bring lots of underwear and inner wear so I don't need to wash when I'm traveling.

How do you deal with "excess baggage" situations?

If I can lessen my load/clothes, I will and will leave it to a friend who will be staying in the place I visited. Sometimes if I did a little shopping while traveling I will pay via online a pre-baggage so its cheaper.

What's your best-kept packing secret?

Always ROLL your clothes and use vacuum sealed bag/plastic.
