Kariss Ainsworth started her blog in the summer of 2013 when she was feeling a bit lost in the world and lacked confidence. Since then, this vintage obsessed Yorkshire lass has moved to London, got her dream job in book publishing and grown her blog into what we see today.
She wants to share her adventures, her finds, her failures and her favourites with everyone through the blog. Her personal style is inspired by everything vintage - 50's and pin-up in particular.
What's usually in your carry-on?
Portable iPhone charger so I can hit the ground running when I land, a book and a gel face mask as the flights pay havoc with my skin. My favourite are the Sephora sleep masks which are the perfect size and really inexpensive, although you can't get them in the UK so I have to stock up when I travel.
Tell us about the usual type of clothes you bring when traveling
If it's a standard city break I have my go to items, things that are comfortable but very me. I love 50's style and the fit and flare shape of the dresses are a great choice for traveling and add a bit of colour. If I'm going to somewhere like Disney World I will plan my outfits a built more carefully so I can get the cutest shots!
What's the best packing tip anyone has given you? Who gave it?
My mum told me about the rolling tip and it's so simple but it really is one of the best tips I've been picked up. Rolling all your clothes leaves so much space, and putting smaller items in shoes can really help too.
What is the best thing about packing light?
I love packing light because you are just ready to go! You can hit a city with your backpack on without having to trek to a hotel first. Having said that preplanning outfits isn't my forte so having unlimited space means unlimited outfit choices!
How does your packing for a travel routine look like?
I love travel but I hate packing! No matter what I do I end up leaving packing until the last minute. Every time I say it'll be different yet you'll find me running around like a fool at 4am throwing stuff in the direction of my bag.
How do you deal with "excess baggage" situations?
I have bought a case weigher, you can get them cheap in places like Primark to avoid situations like this, if in doubt wear as much as you can for the flight!
What's your best-kept packing secret?
Fill your pockets! Unsure if your carry on is overweight, put your phone, passport, chargers, whatever you can in your pockets and save all the room you can.
