What's usually in your carry-on?
As a “flashpacker” there are 3 essential stuff that I bring with me all the time when I am traveling: gadgets (camera, laptop, powerbank, chargers, etc.), skincare and a good book. Then of course clothes, toiletries & vitamins/medicine (because health is wealth!)
Tell us about the usual type of clothes you bring when traveling?
In general I like to bring clothes that are light weight and easy to mix and match such as plain tops, denim jacket, some printed long sleeves, loose pants, skirts, dresses etc. I know it sounds a lot but trust me they are so light weight and do not take up too much space in your bag. Plus having a variety of clothes makes it easier to plan an outfit for a day especially when I want to take photos.
What's the best packing tip anyone has given you? Who gave it?
Roll clothes to save space and bring travel-sized containers for liquids – I got it from my mama!
What is the best thing about packing light?
The best thing about packing light is that you can always bring your bag/carry-on luggage with you – it’s easy to bring around, it doesn’t take much space and most of all you do not have to take so much time in the airport waiting for your check in luggage because you don’t have one!
How does your packing for a travel routine look like?
I pack 1-2 days before my flight/travel. First I make a list of what to bring and what I need to buy if I don’t have it. Then I start packing them making sure that I put the important things on top of the luggage/bag so it would be easy to get them. Then the night before my flight/trip I will double check my luggage/bag just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
How do you deal with "excess baggage" situations?
HAHA this is a funny question for me because there was an incident in my flight from Budapest where I had an excess baggage situation – I didn’t pay any extra or lessen my load – I just wore all the heavy clothes in layers despite sweating a lot!
What's your best-kept packing secret?
Roll the clothes and pack them in zip locks/organizers according to their category: night clothes/travel clothes/extra clothes/gadgets/essentials/others. This way I don’t have to make a mess out of my luggage/bag trying to find something.
