This is the first in a series of articles where we chat to people using CabinZero.
Chel Inumerable is a lifestyle and travel blogger and has traveled extensively around South East Asia throughout 2015.
Chel carries with her one of CabinZero's Military Lightweight Cabin Bags in military black. She plans to travel more with her CabinZero bag in 2016, keeping us up to date through her blog at heyitschel.com.
We caught up with Chel just after she returned from a surfing weekend in the Philippines and asked her a few questions about her love of travel and what's on the horizon for the coming year.
What kick-started your passion for travel?
When I was younger, I was lucky enough to have parents who enjoyed traveling. And I guess that’s how it started. Even though I was studying and working back then, I made sure that I can squeeze in a weekend getaway. Now that I have more time on my hands, I am not taking it for granted and seizing every opportunity that I have. So it is safe to say that I have always been passionate about traveling.
How long have you been travel blogging?
Blogging has been my outlet ever since. I started with a “Dear Diary” kind of writing style, then switched to Lifestyle/Personal niche couple of years ago. Now, my blog is a Lifestyle and Travel site, and I can say roughly two years.
When you travel is there something that you just can’t do without?
Eating local food and getting a massage.
You stayed in Hong Kong recently, if I had a weekend in the city what would be the places to see or things to do before I had to leave?
Hike to The Peak to have a great view of Hong Kong skyline, have some drinks in Lan Kwai Fong and do a photowalk in Mong Kok. During summer season, go to the beach and join a boat party aka junk.
You’ve been “flashpacking” around Asia for the last year or so. What’s been your favourite place that you would go back to in a heartbeat?
This one is easy! I’d say Hoi An, Vietnam. They have a Vietnamese dish called Cao Lau and it is considered a regional food and can only be found here. I am obsessed with it and up to this day, I can not get over how good it is.
Where is the #1 place to visit on your bucket list?
To see the Northern Lights
If you were to give one piece of advice for someone backpacking for the first time what would it be?
Plan ahead but be spontaneous! There are times that something might go wrong but don’t let that ruin your trip.
What are your plans for 2016 and where will you be taking our CabinZero Military style bag?
I plan to live in a foreign country, put my TEFL certificate to practice, and of course travel more. I think its time for me to see the other side of the world, hello Europe and US!
